1989 saw Councillor Tony Robinson become the first black Sheriff of Nottingham. Tony came to Nottingham from Jamaica in 1960 and worked as a bus driver before entering local politics. We see him being helped into some of his ceremonial robes and he tells reporter Vera Gilbert how overwhelmed he is to have been bestowed such an honour. 1989.
